Vincent Metals sells Nitronic 60 in rod, plate, sheet/strip, and foil.
Nitronic 60 is a variation on 'all-purpose' stainless steel. Its higher than usual silicon and manganese content enables superior wear and friction resistance in a metal-to-metal contact situations (avoiding "galling"). It can also maintains strength and oxidation resistance at temperatures up to 1200°F (650°C), making it useful in high-temperature environments.
A few of the products Nitronic 60 is used for include:
- Automotive valves
- Fastener galling
- Pins
- Marine shafts
- Chain link conveyor belts
- Aerospace applications
Nitronic 60’s wear resistance and temperature endurance are part of what make it such an “all purpose” material.
